Ivan Ayr is an Indian film director. He spent his childhood in multiple cities across northern India, before his parents decided to make Chandigarh their home. He moved to the United States for his post graduate studies. After receiving a degree in Electrical Engineering, he studied English Literature at Cañada college in Redwood City, California and Screenwriting & Film direction at San Francisco Film Society, where he wrote and directed his first short film, ‘Lost and Found’, as a eulogy to his stolen bicycle. Ivan’s second short, ‘Quest for a Different Outcome’, won Best Film at the San Jose Short Film Festival.

Ivan’s feature directorial debut ‘SONI’ is in post production. It was one of the 5 films selected by India’s National Film Development Corporation, to be part of the prestigious ‘Work in Progress’ Lab at Film Bazaar 2017.
